Experience the 2,400 million year old Magaliesberg mountains on a unique 2 ½ hour Canopy Tour through the Ysterhout kloof. The Magaliesberg Canopy Tour consists of eleven platforms built high amongst the cliffs and rock faces of the kloof and joined by ten slides up to 140m long and 30m above the stream below. The Magaliesberg mountain range is the second oldest in the world, with the Canopy Tour offering visitors the opportunity to explore the secrets of this ancient mountain from a totally new perspective. Enjoy the adrenalin of the slides or spend a couple of minutes relaxing and absorbing the breathtaking beauty of its protected fauna and flora while your guides enthusiastically explain the ecology of the area.

The system has been designed and constructed by a qualified civil engineer. All equipment is state-of-the-art and guides are fully trained.

The experience begins with a briefing session at the Magaliesberg Canopy Tour offices where you will be tutored on the do’s and don’ts during the tour. You will also be kitted out with your harness, pulley, safety helmet and sliding glove and will be given an opportunity to ask any questions to your guide. After the briefing session you will be transported up the mountain to the first platform where your adventure begins. As you take off on the first slide you will find yourself entering an enchanting new world where you are one with your natural surroundings.

Tours depart every half an hour from 6:30am to 16:30pm in summer and 7:00am to 15:00 in winter, and are conducted in most weather conditions.Suitable for anyone between the ages of 7 and 70. Canopy Tours are great for the whole family, groups and corporate team builds. A maximum of 8 people are taken per group but larger group bookings of up to 120 people per day can be handled.
