Flamingo Lake is hidden deep inside the Middlevlei Nature Reserve. This is an ideal spot from which to explore the Overberg.
Fringed by a huge lagoon and an endless sandy beach lies this exclusive private estate. From your rondavel you can watch the birds on the lagoon, stroll through the estate and cross the romantic footbridge to the long unspoilt beach. You can expect to see the Wild Horses of Sandown Beach, the occasional grysbok or duiker. Francolins and guinea fowl forage around your very own private garden, and in season you might see the flamingoes and pelicans on the lagoon.
The rondavels are spacious, with a living room, separate bedroom, bathroom and kitchen, some have lofts.
Each rondavel stands alone in approximately 450sq.meters of garden and each unit has its own private garden with barbecue facilities.
Linen and bedding is provided and towels can be provided on request.
There is a Swimming Pool and Tennis Courts.
Our bush cabins are in the milkwood forest and carefully located so as to avoid damaging the trees.
They are picturesque log cabins - some are small and others are 3 bedroomed double-storey houses.
Many are actually under the trees and almost the whole area is shady and sheltered from the wind.
All are only a 5 minute walk away from the lake shore.

We require a 50% of the total amount in order to confirm a reservation, refundable as follows:
Cancellation before due arrival :
1 month or less: No Refund
2 - 3 months: 50% of deposit
More than 3 months: 80% of deposit refunded

TRAVEL DIRECTIONS AND GPS. CO-ORDINATES
Get yourself onto the R43 to Hermanus as follows:
From Cape Town:
Find your way onto the N2 to Caledon, George and so on. If you are coming from the airport, then follow the signs to Somerset West until you reach the N2. Drive over Sir Lowry's Pass, past Grabouw and Houwhoek to the turnoff signposted Kleinmond and Hermanus. Take this turnoff to the R43.
An alternative is to take the Scenic Route from Somerset West: Take the R44 from Somerset West and keep following the signs to Gordon's Bay and Kleinmond. You will then go through Rooiels, Betty's Bay and Kleinmond. Continue through Kleinmond and when you have passed the Arabella Golf Course on your right you will come to a T Junction. At that point turn right onto the R43, travel towards Hermanus and turn right at Fisherhaven, then follow directions as set out below.
Once you are on the R43 going towards Hermanus:
About 15km along this road is a turning to Kleinmond - DON'T take this! Carry on for about another 8 km, past Benguela Cove to the turnoff to Fisherhaven.
There are signposts saying "Fisherhaven" and another saying "Meerensee". [If you reach a sign saying "Hawston", then you have gone too far, and must turn back.] At the Fisherhaven turnoff, turn right through white gate posts at each side of the road, and drive to the first stop sign. Beware of the speed control hump on this stretch of road - it can knock your teeth out if you hit it at more than about 20km per hour. At the first stop sign there is a sign that says Middlevlei, turn left here into Farm Road. Follow the road to the left, which takes a bend to the right (and then another hump in the road) and ends at a T-junction. Turn left here, and about a hundred meters further is a turning to the right with signs to Middlevlei. Turn right onto this road which is a concrete road, and drive to our entrance gate, which is signed MIDDLEVLEI.
