ACCOMMODATION IN PILANESBERG NATIONAL PARK
This wonderful game reserve was created in the 1980s as a less plastic attraction to complement the nearby Sun City complex. An exceptionally ambitious restocking exercise, called Operation Genesis, saw the reintroduction of over 6,000 animals into the park. Pilanesberg is transitional between the dry Kalahari biome and the moister Lowveld biome so there is an interesting mix of animals. For example, springbok and impala, which occupy the same ecological niche in the two different biomes, coexist here.
