ACCOMMODATION IN BELA BELA
The original (and now reinstated) Tswana name of this place means “the water that boils on its own,” which is not that different from Warmbaths, the name that so aptly describes the main attraction of this pleasant but otherwise unremarkable town. The hot spring that – literally – fuels the town’s tourism produces 22,000 litres of scorching hot water at 53°C every hour. While the mineral-rich nature of the water evidently has therapeutic benefits, it is more appreciated for its recreational properties. So the spa and hot baths are supplemented by waterslides and a huge family-friendly resort. Like everywhere in the Waterberg area, it is close to some great wildlife destinations.
