From direction Barrydale on the R62: 45 km out of Barrydale is a turnoff to the left, just after the Touws River, there are signs indicating Plathuis and Rietfontein, turn left here onto adirt road and travel for 3.9 km and turn right onto another dirt road. There is another sign indicating the turnoff to Rietfontein and also a sign indicating Touwsberg Private Nature Reseve at this point.

Travel along this road till you see a sign indicating "Wolwefontein". Carry on past this turnoff till you see a sign on the right indicating Rietfontein. A little further on is a small sign indicating Rietfontein and turn left onto the property. From the Plathuis road to Rietfontein is approximately 6.5 km.

From direction Ladismith on the R62: 33 km out of Ladismith is a turnoff to the right just before the Touws River indicating Plathuis and Rietfontein. Turn right here onto the dirt road as described above and follow the same directions thereon.
