'The facility is absolutely breathtakingly beautifull. The 1st evening we were relaxing by the fireplace and had dinner after which we wanted to take a bath and discovered there was no running water at about 20:00 we smsed the contact person we were given because we had poor cellphone reception we couldnt call them we received NO-REPLY and proceded to wash with a kettle full of water that we had left. We were told we can take our dogs with we did and thet evening at about 17:00 two horse appeared in the front lawn and as our dogs are not used to horses was running and barking and the smallest one was curious and couldnt hear me calling her away form the rear leg of the horse and was kicked in the face luckily just a bloody nose. The next morning at 9am the owner who happenend to be on the facility over the weekend came to find out about the water from us. He didnt seem to have a definitive answer and told us we would have to wait till about 11am for one of his workers to appear from town, i also asked about the horses and why they werent closed in the previous night he just shrugged his shoulders and chanegd the subject, the horse then made there appearance again as we were talking he said they are used to dogs upon which i said my dogs arent used to horses! And that we have to chase the horse away everytime they come here he also did nothing to remove them in that moment. Still no running water we went into dullstoom for the day hoping that the water will be back by the time we get back, 15:00 STILL NO WATER. I drove to the owners house and asked what are we supposed to do? He offered we can use the house he is staying in to bath... I replied i cannot drive up here everytime i or my wife need to use the bathroom! He said we still need to wait for the worker to see if he can fix the problem as he still is unreachable, they then seemed to try and fix the problem which was it turned out to be unfixable as the water supply is dependant on a Windpump and there was no wind thus no water was pumped so there was not enough water in the tank to create pressure to supply the house with water. He said (at 16:30) that he will get someone to bring us containers with water for us to at least use for now. I had then also bought mineral 15litres water in town for us to cook with and drink. At 17:00 i decided to scratch together the containers we could find and walked drove and carried about 50liters of water in 3 5liter containers from the stream about a kilometer away down from the house for us to wash and bath with. Only the next morning did they arrive with containers with water for us which was too late.
I would expect at least when we booked that they told us that the water is supplied by a wind pump and that we would need to bring containers for water. They also neglegted to mention there is no electricity which i dont mind because i liked it that way seing as the gas appliances worked very well. Other than this i would love to go back provide there is running water to the house. The solution is simple they can just attach a small diesel enjin to the wind pump in the case of no wind. Other that the water and horse drama it is really relaxed and quiet environment with a beautifull house.
