Vergelegen Guesthouse & Restaurant sits nestled in the Orange River Valley in a splendid farm setting on the outskirts of Kakamas. The Guesthouse is en-route to the Kalahari and Namibia, Namakwaland, and Richtersveld, as well as being located in the perfect place to visit a variety of attractions and activities.
Vergelegen Guesthouse adds a personal and exclusive touch to each of its eighteen elegantly decorated and en suite rooms. All rooms and self catering units come provided with linens, towels complementary amenity kit, and are air conditioned. All rooms have fridges. All rooms walk out onto a patio with patio furniture. There are also coffee and tea making facilities, and a healthy breakfast is served. Outside guests can enjoy a braai in a quaint courtyard as well as thecrystalline pool.
The chef at Vergelegen Guesthouse can prepare meals for your enjoyment outside on the patio or by the fireplace or guests may enjoy intimate dining at the A Le Carte restaurant on the premises, or choose to relax at the cocktail lounge and bar.
Facilities are available for conferences of up to thirty people and catering is available for all occasions are available as well. A high level of personal attention is assured for the duration of your stay.
Also on the premises is our coffee shop and deli where guests can procure a feast of dried and fresh fruit as well as local produce. Or guests can enjoy light lunches and homemade treats in the tea garden.
The Vergelegen Guest house is a perfect base for travellers to Riemvasmaak hot spring, Augrabies National Park, and surrounding activities and attractions. It's also en-route to the Kalahari Gemsbok Park Richtersveld, Namibia, and Namaqualand.
Close to the Vergelegen Guest house visitors can choose rafting trips in the Orange River Gorge, game viewing and night drives at Augrabies Falls National Park, horseback riding, historical sightseeing, vineyard and wine tours, and mountain biking to name a few.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellation Policy prior to arrival date: If you require a confirmed booking to be cancelled, the following policy comes into effect.
Less than 7 days, guest forfeit the full deposit. From 7 - 14 days, guest forfeit 75% of the deposit. From 14 - 21 days, guest forfeit 50% of the deposit. From 21 - 28 days, guest forfeit 25% of the deposit.
No refunds on early departures.
Only on receipt of a written instruction to cancel the reservation, Vergelegen will refund the applicable amount as determined by the cancellation terms, within 5 working days.
Vergelegen levies a 4.5% administration fee on any refunds processed. Should refunds to a SWIFT bank account be required, an additional R185 charge will be levied.

From Cape Town take the Malmesbury road (N7 route) to Vanrhynsdorp. At Vanrhynsdorp you can either stay on the N7 via Springbok ( Namaqwaland Route ) to Kakamas or you can take the R27 via Calvinia, Keimoes to Kakamas ( Hantam Route ).
From Johannesburg stay on the N14 to Upington. ( be aware not to miss the turnoff from Kathu to Olifantshoek/Upington ) From Upinton stay on the N14 towards Keimoes. At Keimoes turn right at the traffic light towards Kakamas/Augrabies and about 3 km before Kakamas on the right side of the N14 road is Vergelegen. There are road signs and 6 international flags at the entrance.
From Cape Town through the Hantam
From Vanrhynsdorp take the R27 via Calvinia towards Brandvlei/Kenhardt. At Keimoes turn left at the traffic light towards Kakamas/Augrabies and about 3 km before Kakamas on the right side of the road is Vergelegen.
From Cape Town through Namaqwaland
From Vanrhynsdorp take the N7 to Springbok. From Springbok take the N14 via Pofadder to Kakamas on the N14 towards Keimoes/Upington, over the Orange river. Vergelegen is 3km after Kakamas on the left side of the road.
