Welcome to Hazelwood House, situated on the slopes of Stellenbosch Mountain in a quiet tree-lined street in a desirable suburb of Stellenbosch, yet only 15 min walk to the centre of the historic, second oldest town in South Africa. Superb views of the surrounding mountains with Table Mountain clearly visible. The lush tropical garden and large sparkling swimming pool with extensive patio and lapa, provide a perfect situation for complete relaxation after a busy day visiting the numerous golf courses and vineyards nearby. Central Cape Town and its international airport are less than 35 min away by car/taxi. The beautiful coast, with whale watching between the months of June and December, is a 20 min drive away.

Hazelwood House has 6 double bedrooms, all en suite. The cottage, Sugarbush, sleeps 6 with 2 bedrooms, kitchen and a large lounge. It has a high quality sleeper couch to accommodate 2 extra people if required. It has a cosy outside patio that overlooks the garden. There is a double braai (barbecue) area for those lovely evenings.

Nerina – This unit has a king-size bed, en suite bathroom with bath & shower and a fully-equipped kitchen. It also has its own little private deck with access to the garden & swimming pool.

Erica – This unit has a double bed, en suite bathroom with bath & shower and a fully-equipped kitchen. It also has its own entrance and a sliding door opens to the garden & swimming pool.

Pincushion is a comfortable large room with a separate kitchen and bathroom with bath & shower. It has a high quality sleeper couch to accommodate 2 extra people if required. It also has a nice patio outside with easy access to the barbecue facilities. The big swimming pool is just around the corner. It also has an enclosed outside area where you can enjoy a private kettle braai while sipping on a glass of good wine!

The cottage, Sugarbush, sleeps 6 with 2 bedrooms, kitchen and a large lounge. Each bedroom has its own bathroom. It has a high quality sleeper couch to accommodate 2 extra people if required. It also has a cosy outside patio that overlooks the garden. There is a double braai (barbecue) area for those lovely evenings!

Our pride and joy is the upstairs unit called Wild Clove. It consists of a nice spacious bedroom and a separate lounge – each with its own TV. A fully-equipped kitchenette allows you to cook up a storm. It also has a spacious bathroom with his and her basins, bath, shower and separate toilet. A small balcony leading from the lounge provides a nice quiet area for your afternoon tea – which you will probably never use because of the absolutely wonderful wooden deck leading out from the bedroom! Double sliding doors open to this deck from where you have a stunning view over Stellenbosch and its mountains. This is the place where you can really enjoy a good glass of Stellenbosch wine!

All units have their own safes, hairdryers, aircons/ ceiling fans and oil heaters for those chilly nights. Free Internet is available via a wireless network – fast ADSL lines.

About Stellenbosch
Stellenbosch is the second oldest town in South Africa after Cape Town. The town is also affectionately known as Eikestad, the town of Oaks, because of the many old oak trees lining the beautiful streets of our town.

There are many wonderful things to do and see in and about town, to name but a few:

Golf - There are a few quality golf courses within easy driving distance from Stellenbosch. Pearl Valley, De Zalze, Strand, Devonvale and Stellenbosch Golf Club are all within 40 kilometres of Hazelwood House.

Mountain Biking - There are many trails through the mountains and vineyards offering mountain biking enthusiasts plenty of terrain to ride over their stay in the area.

Fishing - Bass, carp and trout fishing are all available in the area. Please ask us for more detail about fishing venues and we will be more than happy to point you in the right direction.
