Highly Recommended Small Hotel/Inn
Overlooking the Buffalo River and nestling below Shiane Mountain, just 12 min walk from the Rorke’s Drift Battlesite, our spacious modern buildings will give stimulation and a cosy base for the adventures and interests that surrounds us. The Hotel guiding service will supply a specialist history guide if required and most guests enjoy a day of fascinating history and drama with visits to Isandlwana and then to Rorke's Drift Battlefields.
Our rural idyll offers trails and hikes for walkers, bikers and horse riders as well as the chance to explore history at first hand with and other sites that can be explored. The library in the Bushman Room and the pool-with-the-view offer relaxation and the plentiful flora and the scenic landscape offers perfect contemplative activity. Craft workshops in the area make intersting contacts with the local rural people and a half day tour is popular. Guests are recommended to stay for at least two nights so that visits to the two key sites that within easy reach of us can be enjoyed and absorbed. Within easy reach are Blood River and Talana that take visitors to 1838 and to 1900, and a week is not long enough!

Hotel amenities include Bar, lounge, dining room, gift shop, pool, cinema, car park. All rooms have en suite shower, double wash hand basins and separate WC and each has an individual mini-deck to enjoy the view. Accommodation is in round ‘Forts’ which are a few metres walk from the main building. Access to the riverbank for birding or walking with many other trails for the more energetic or adventurous. Local guides are available and the Hotel will book them on request.

Children are welcome and under 12 are half-price, but must be accompanied by an adult at all times

Cancellation Policy
If a confirmed booking is cancelled more than six months before the date of arrival, a full refund will be made
If a confirmed booking is cancelled less than six months before arrival, the deposit will be refunded less 10%
If the booking is cancelled less than one month before arrival, the deposit will be refunded less 15%
If the booking is cancelled less than one week before arrival, the deposit will be refunded less 25%.
If the booking is cancelled less than one day before arrival, the deposit will be refunded less 45%.
If the booking is cancelled after 0800 on the day of arrival the deposit will not be refunded.
For no shows we have a 16h00 cut-off time, unless prior arrangements have been made with the Hotel.
