DescriptionThe historic Post House in Greyton was built in 1860 and is situated in the heart of Greyton. The spacious guest rooms are newly renovated and each has its own unique character. The staff are efficient and friendly, the food delicious and the atmosphere delightful. The Post House offers you a wonderful weekend getaway, a mid-week conference facility and an intimate country wedding venue.

The Post House Country Pub has a cozy nook with a large wood burning fire that crackles away in winter and often locals and guests can be found savoring the delicious meals, reading the paper or enjoying a game of back gammon.
Our spacious bedrooms are decorated in a fresh country style and each has their own veranda which leads out onto a pretty garden. Breakfast is served between 8:00am and 10.30 in The Post House Restaurant or on the restaurant veranda. Breakfast is included with all accommodation packages. Each room is serviced on a daily basis.
The bedrooms have their own unique style / character and although newly refurbished have kept the "Country Feel" throughout. There are no televisions in the bedrooms but there is a television in the pub for sports viewing.
You get breakfast and the following facilities:
12 bedrooms with king or twin size beds and en-suite bathroom
2 bedrooms with double beds and en-suite bathroom
1 Honeymoon Suite
No Television in the rooms as the country feel is kept throughout
Tea and Coffee making stations
Air conditioning, Bibles & and hair dryers in all the bedrooms
Wireless internet is available in our restaurant area as a complimentary service
When you are ready to venture out of The Post House, you will find plenty to keep you busy in Greyton.
The beautiful encircling mountains offer hiking trails, waterfalls and populations of wild flowers. There are marked walking trails and these range from one hour "strolls" to two day calorie burning stuff.
Greyton boasts a variety of art galleries, eateries and wonderful shops that have captured the spirit of Greyton and offer something for the more discerning shopper to a "thoughtful" gift for someone special.
The people of Greyton are interesting, energetic and friendly and will go a long way to ensuring that you have a delightful stay.
The Greyton Winter Festival is held on the long weekend in June just before the winter solstice. It hosts art exhibitions with candle lit evening walks around the town during which the galleries offer warm Gluwein. The Genadendal Brass Band and other musicians play at various venues. Horse carts are available to take people on tours of the village. Child Policy The Post House shall allow one child under the age of 12 years to share with two full paying adult at an additional cost. (Please see rates for cost) An additional bed or cot shall be made available in the bedroom.
For two children or any child 12 years and over, an additional room will be required at the full rate. Cancellation Policy Our cancellation policy is as follows:
Cancellation six weeks or less before arrival 50% of full amount will be forfeited.
Cancellation two weeks or less before arrival 100% of the full amount will be forfeited.
Cancellations and amendments must be made in writing to The Post House Hotel by email or facsimile.
Any refunds due will be paid 14 days after departure.
Deposit Policy
For advanced bookings (45 and more days prior to stay) a 50% deposit must be paid immediately, where after The Post House Hotel will confirm the booking. The 50% balance is payable 30 days prior to stay.
For bookings made less than 30 days prior to stay full payment must be received immediately, where after The Post House Country Hotel will confirm the booking.
The Post House Country Hotel reserves the right to automatically release reservations being held for which payment has not been received.
Payment Policy
Should the final payment not be made within the required period the Post House Country Hotel reserves the right to cancel the rooms without prior notification.
In the instance that the first deposit has been paid and the second deposit is not received by the due date, The Post House Hotel reserves the right to reduce the number of rooms held so the number of rooms matches the 50% deposit required to secure the rooms.
Rooming lists that are not received by the hotel 14 days prior to arrival may not be captured and processed accordingly in time for the guest arrival.
Deposits and prepayments can be made by way of bank draft or electronic transfer, into the hotel bank account. All guests will be required to settle their account of extras (telephone calls, beverages, laundry, etc), on checking out, either by credit card or local currency.
Pet Policy
The Post House Country Hotel is a pet friendly hotel that understands pets are an extension of your family.
A pet deposit of R500 is required for each pet. This deposit is refunded if the room is in order at check out. The following conditions apply:
Pets must be fully trained and appropriately restrained by guest.
Pets must be kept on a leash when in the hotel or on hotel property unless it is in the guest's room.
Pets must not be left unattended.
Pets are not allowed in the restaurant, pub or pool area. This exclusion does not apply to guide dogs.
Guests are responsible for cleaning up after their pets on hotel property and in the neighborhood.
Any disturbances such as barking must be curtailed to ensure other guests are not inconvenienced.
Guests are responsible for all property damages and/or personal injuries resulting from their pet.
Guests agree to indemnify and hold harmless the hotel, its owners and its operator from all liability and damage suffered as a result of the guest's pet.
The hotel reserves the right to charge guest's account commensurate to the cost of such damages.
Pet owners will be responsible for their canine companions and for any excessive damage they may cause.
These terms and conditions shall apply to all reservations made with First Hospitality Management Solutions, Trading as The Post House to the exclusion of all other terms and conditions relating to reservations, notwithstanding the fact that such other terms and conditions may be printed on reservation forms used by guests or tour operators. These terms and conditions shall not be deemed to have been varied or amended in any way by terms and conditions appearing elsewhere unless agreed in writing and signed by both parties.

Directions
To get to Greyton from Cape Town is about a 90 minute drive. Take the N2 east towards Somerset West. Going over Sir Lowry's Pass, on your way to Caledon, one has to admire the awesome view of Cape Town. Going through Grabouw and approaching Caledon you would need to look out for the Greyton / Genadendal turnoff going to the left, this would be the R406. Greyton is about 32 km along the R406, roughly taking about 20 minutes of driving. Please do watch out for horses and cows walking or grazing along the side of the road as you approach the village.
The Post House Guesthouse / Country Hotel, The Post House Restaurant and The Post House Country Pub is located at the second stop street, on your left hand side as you come into Greyton.
